Frequently Asked Questions:
How much do
the classes cost?
Class costs vary depending on your needs. A 6
week set of 2 hour classes, in your own home, costs $720
for personalised “one on one” classes. However,
if you'd like to share your class with a friend or
family member the cost would be $480 each.
Specialised, personal fit and patterns making classes
can be tailored to suit your needs and cost from $70 per
hour with a 2 hour minimum.
Wouldn’t it be
cheaper to attend a bigger class at college?
Yes it would be cheaper! Larger class
environments do provide a good service, but the great
benefit of our small classes is that you receive very
personal attention and you can learn in ways that work
for you. Also, you are very productive in class,
as you do not need to wait for the teacher to get around
the whole group to help you.
You learn more, in less time, making your classes
better value for money!
When are the
classes held?
Classes can be scheduled at times to suit you, in your
own home. Janet is available during the day and in
the evenings, Monday to Friday. Please contact me to arrange a time
that works for you.
Why should I
take formal classes? Can’t I teach myself?
You certainly can teach yourself but you will learn much
faster and better in a class environment. If you
teach yourself, you may not know where to start, or not
learn the best techniques to avoid problems with your
sewing. Why not read some of my students’ comments
here to see how they
benefited from formal classes?
Why are your
classes so small?
By teaching only 1 or 2 people at a time I can ensure
that the classes are tailored to your needs and learning
style. You learn exactly what you want to learn
and in a way that works well for you. The result
is a better learning experience for you and your sewing
skills will grow very quickly.
I don’t own a
sewing machine – can you provide one?
Yes! I have sewing machines for you to use during
your classes. I can also help you choose a
machine that will suit your needs and budget.
